Our Artistic Side

The Santa Barbara area has a wealth of artistic talent and Vista del Monte is no exception. Our residents are a diverse group of creative forces that express themselves in a wide range of ways. The Vista del Monte Players perform regularly, including a recent staging of Lovely Lila, written and directed by resident playwright Doris Wells Miller. Doris also has published a book of children’s plays. Residents can be regularly found in the Vista del Monte Art Studio dabbling in oils or watercolors. And our annual art exhibit is a resident favorite. Not all of our resident artists are professionals but we celebrate their creative expressions every chance we get.

Some of our residents display their work at the Front Porch Gallery in Carlsbad. The Gallery partners with community arts organizations to create an understanding of aging through art. We invite you to visit the Front Porch Gallery at 2903 Carlsbad Boulevard in Carlsbad. It’s located adjacent to Carlsbad By The Sea Retirement Community.
