Our Artistic Side

The Santa Barbara area has a wealth of artistic talent and Vista del Monte is no exception. Our residents are a diverse group of creative forces that express themselves in a wide range of ways. The Vista del Monte Players perform regularly, including a recent staging of Lovely Lila, written and directed by resident playwright Doris Wells Miller. Doris also has published a book of children’s plays. Meg Torbert can be regularly found in the Vista del Monte Art Studio dabbling in oils or watercolors. Meg’s magnificent works are displayed in Santa Barbara galleries and she is listed in Who’s Who in the West. Not all of our resident artists are professionals but we celebrate their creative expressions every chance we get.

Some of our residents display their work at the Front Porch Gallery in Carlsbad. The Gallery partners with community arts organizations to create an understanding of aging through art.
